Frequently Asked Questions
CHILDBIRTH CLASSES
When should we take a childbirth class?
Most families enroll between 20–32 weeks of pregnancy. That allows time to learn, practice, and feel prepared together before birth.
Do partners attend?
Yes. Your registration automatically includes both the birthing person and their support person — no added partner fee.
Do your classes prepare us for medicated birth, unmedicated birth, or both?
Both. You’ll learn how labor works, how to cope with contractions naturally, and how to use medication if you choose it. We focus on confidence and choice, not one “right” way to give birth.
Do you cover postpartum recovery and newborn care?
Yes. That’s part of what makes Nest & Nurture different — you’re not left to figure out feeding, healing, or newborn basics alone.
What if I already took a hospital class?
Hospital classes teach policies. We teach skills, support, decision-making, and mind-body preparation. Many families take both.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes — just email us and we can split the class fee into two payments.
What if I miss a class?
You’ll receive the handouts and notes from that session, and we’ll do our best to help you catch up. In some cases we can schedule a one on one makeup. There are no refunds for missed individual classes.
LACTATION SUPPORT
Do you take insurance?
Not directly, but we provide superbills you can submit for reimbursement. Many families are partially or fully reimbursed, depending on their plan.
When should I book a lactation consult?
Anytime — prenatally for feeding prep, in the hospital if things are hard, or anytime postpartum for latch, pain, supply, pumping, bottle feeding, or weight concerns.
Can you help with pumping, bottle feeding, tongue tie, or low supply?
Yes. As an IBCLC, Amanda is trained to support all feeding methods and challenges — not just breastfeeding.
Do you offer virtual visits?
Yes — virtual consults are available for education, pumping plans, bottle transitions, relactation, return-to-work prep, and more.
What makes an IBCLC different from other breastfeeding helpers?
IBCLC is the highest level of lactation credential — a medical-grade certification requiring 1,000+ hours of clinical work, board exams, and ongoing education.
YOGA, WORKSHOPS & MINI CLASSES
Do I need yoga experience to join?
No — all classes are beginner-friendly and built for pregnant and postpartum bodies.
Can I bring my baby to postpartum yoga?
Yes — lap babies and quiet infants are welcome.
What should I bring?
Water, comfort clothing, and a yoga mat if you have one. Props are provided.
Are workshops (like Comfort Measures or Nourish) partner friendly?
Yes. Those one-time sessions are designed for couples and support people.
